Counter commemorating the attack on a British convoy. Obverse: Bust of Admiral Louis Alexandre de Bourbon, Comte de Toulouse (1678-1737) in armour and mantle. Legend: 'L . ALEXA . DE BOURBON C . DE TOULOUZE ADMIRAL DE FCE.' Reverse: Perseus in a helmet in flight, a sword erect in his right and Medusa's head in his left hand. Legend: 'HINC FERIT INDE ARCET.' (On one side he smites, on another he wards off blows.) Exergue: 'MARINE . 1708.'
