Ridge tent
Used on Nares' Arctic expedition 1875. Eight man sledge tent. Hand sewn, canvas, ridge tent. Ropes attached, closed with brass hooks. Inscribed "POPPIE Tent for 8 men". "Poppie" name of a sledge commanded by Lieutenant G.A. Giffard.
