Counter commemorating the fitting out of a squadron under Admiral René Duguay-Trouin (1673-1736). Obverse: Bust of Admiral Louis Alexandre de Bourbon, Comte de Toulouse (1678-1737) in armour and mantle. Legend: 'L . ALEXA . DE BOURBON C . DE TOULOUZE ADMIRAL DE FCE.' Reverse: A number of eagles in flight over the sea, a cliff (left); rays of the sun above (right). Legend: 'NON TERRUIT AUSTER EUNTES.' (The south wind hath not scared them from their flight.) Exergue: 'MARINE 1734.'
