Obverse: Youthful bust of Admiral Louis Jean Marie de Bourbon, Duc de Penthièvre (1725-1793) with long hair, tied, and ribbon and Order of the Golden Fleece (right). Legend: 'L . J . M . DE BOURBON D . DE PENTHIEVRE AMIRAL DE FR.' Reverse: Port broadside view of the Argo, armed, the Golden Fleece suspended from the mast head. Legend: 'SERVASSE TRIUMPHUS.' (To have held one's ground is a triumph.) Exergue: 'MARINE 1746.'
