Counter celebrating French sea power. Obverse: Bust of King Louis XVI in a wig tied with a bow, uniform and ribbon of order (right). Legend: 'LUDOV . XVI . REX CHRISTIANISS.' Reverse: Neptune (left), his trident raised in his right hand, seated in his two-horsed sea car. Legend: 'BELLO PACIQUE.' (In war and peace). Exergue: Two crossed palm branches. The reverse is a copy from a jeton struck in 1712.
