Counter commemorating Cardinal Richelieu (1585-1642). Obverse: Bust of Cardinal Armand Jean Duplessis, Duc de Richelieu (1585-1642) in a skull-cap, collar, robe and order (left). Legend: 'ARMAND IEAN DU PLESSIS.' Reverse: Two cherubs, one (left) holding a skull, the other (right) blowing a trumpet held in his right hand and holding a palm leaf in his left, seated on a tomb decorated with a wreath. Inscription (on tomb): 'CARDINAL DUC DE RICHELIEU . M . 1642.'
