Medal commemorating the defeat of the Dutch and Spanish fleets at Palermo, 1676. Obverse: Head of King Louis XIV in a long wig (right) with a small curl in front. Legend: 'LVDOVICUS . MAGNUS . REX . CHRISTIANISSMUS .' Reverse: An antique galley, on the stern two cupids holding a globe bearing the lilies of France; above, a flying Victory about to place a wreath upon it. Legend: 'VICTORIA PANORMITANA.' Exergue: 'DELETA . HOSTIVM . CLASSE . 1676'.
