Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1953
Admiral of the Fleet's undress jacket belonging to Adm-Fleet Terence Thornton Lewin (1920-1999). Blue wool jacket with black silk lining (white in the sleeves). Turn down collar. Metal loop and fabric loop for one shoulder strap. and six sewn loops for attachment of aiguillettes. Two side pockets, one breast pocket, one inside pocket. Double breasted with eight 1953 pattern flag officers gilt buttons - Queen's Crown above a foul anchor, within a laurel wreath with a rope twist edge, two plastic buttons inside for support. Admiral of the Fleet sleeve lace - top stripe with curl, three 1/2 " stripes, one 1 3/4" stripe on cuff. Two covered buttons behind the lapels to attach aiguillettes. Medal ribbons: Order of the Bath, Royal Victorian Order, Distinguished Service Cross, 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star with rose, Africa Star, War Medal 1939-45, with oak leaf, Silver Jubilee medal, Queen Elizabeth II.
