Medal commemorating the International Maritime Exhibition, Havre, 1868. Obverse: Medallions of the heads of the Emperor Napoleon III (right) facing left and of the Prince Imperial (left) facing right inscribed with their titles. Legend: 'NAPOLEON EE. LS. JN . JH . PRINCE IMPERIAL'; 'NAPOLEON EMPEREUR'. An anchor of caduceus form between them suspended from a ribbon inscribed 'HAVRE 1868', the Imperial Crown above; a crossed trident and paddle below, and a ribbon intertwined and inscribed 'SOUVENIR DE INTERNATIONALE L'EXPOSITION MARITIME' (Souvenir of the International Maritime Exhibition). Reverse: Two medallions of the entrance to the port, '1516' (left), '1868' (right), with shipping; the arms of Havre above, crowned and decorated with inscribed ribbons and laurel sprays; a view of the exhibition buildings below. Legend: 'IMPORTATION EXPORTATION' 'EXPOSITION MARITIME INTLE. INAUGURÉE LE I JUIN 1868' (Importation. Exportation. International Maritime Exhibition inaugurated 1 June 1868). Inscribed on ribbon 'LE HAVRE DE GRACE'.
