Medal die commemorating the siege of Paris and death of Lieutenant Edgard Saisset, 1870. A die, uniface. Inscription, incuse: 'MORT DU LIEUTENANT DE VAISSEAU EDGARD SAISSET FILS UNIQUE DU VICE AMIRAL SAISSET LE 17 9BRE 1870 AU BOMBT DU FORT DE MONTROUGE.' (Death of Naval Lieutenant Edgard Saisset, only son of Vice-Admiral Saisset, 17 November 1870, at the bombardment of Fort Montrouge.) This and the following six were dies struck for the popular medals sold during the seige.
