Medal commemorating 'dangers averted', 1589. Obverse: Bust of Queen Elizabeth, hair adorned with pearls, in a large ruff and embroidered dress, face (left), figure (three quarters left). Legend: 'ELIZABETH . D . G . ANGLIE . F . ET . HI . REG.' Reverse: A large bay tree and building on an island, inscribed; ships in the distance, clouds above. Inscription, on either side of the bay tree: 'E . R .' On the island: 'NON . IPSA . PERICVLA . TANGVNT'. (Not even dangers affect it.) Fitted with an ornamental loop. A copy.
