Unknown Ottoman Paddle Yacht (no date), probably Feyz-i-Cihat (1852)
Plan showing the body plan, sheer lines with bow, paddle box and stern decoration, and longitudinal half-breadth for an unknown paddle yacht, possibly the frigate/yacht Feyz-i-Cihat (1852), later converted to a paddle yacht and renamed Sultaniye in 1862. The decoration on the paddle box shows a crescent moon and star.
A pencil annotation with no provenance suggests that the yacht was built by Samuda Brothers for Sultan Fehz Hehat, although there is no Sultan of that name.
It is likely that this is the frigate and yacht built at C J Mare for the Egyptian Navy and launched as the Feyz-i-Cihat (1852). She was rebuilt in 1862 by Forrester & Co and presented by Ismail Pasha to Sultan Abdul Aziz. On commissioning she was renamed Sultaniye.
