Malta George Cross fiftieth anniversary commemorative medal presented to Adm-Fleet Terence Thornton Lewin (1920-1999). Obverse: The George Cross. Legend: ‘BHALA XHIEDA TA BROJIZMU O DEDIKAZZIONI + TO BEAR WITNESS TO HEROISM AND DEVOTION 1942’. Reverse: The arms of Malta, below: ‘1992’. On a scroll: ‘REPUBLIC OF MALTA’. Suspended on a dark blue ribbon with a narrow red and white stripe in the centre – the colours of the George Cross ribbon and the Maltese flag. Presented by the Maltese government in 1992 for service between 10 June 1940 and 8 September 1943 during the blockade of Malta. Mounted on a bar with seven others ZBA4356-4363.
