Scale: Not applicable. A printed lithograph showing a three quarter length portrait of John Charnock [1756-1807]. The print has been mounted on a heavy paper base and the dimensions of the object without the base are actually 369mm x 480mm. The text around the crest beneath the picture of Charnock reads: "Author of an History of Marine Architecture, Biographia Navalis CVC, died May 16th 1807, aged 51. In respect and affection to whose memory this Portrait after an Original Picture by Maria Singleton, has been Engraved by the order of Henry B. H. Beauton Esq. 1809."
