Obverse: Full-length figure of Admiral Edward Vernon (1684-1757), (three-quarter left), sword upright in right hand, left on hip. Small cannon pointing left, behind Vernon, his right foot standing on the long trail. Ship (right), sailing right. Inscription below a castle with three towers (left): 'HAVANAH'. Line enclosing legend. Legend: 'ED : VERNON ESQ : VICE ADMIRAL OF THE BLUE'. Reverse: View of the port. Six ships, placed one, two, three, all sailing to right. A boat is placed below the right-hand fort, with a man extending both arms. Line enclosing legend. One steeple pointing at letters W. I. Legend: ': HE . TOOK . PORTO . BELLO . WITH . SIX . SHIPS .
