Reverse: Britannia seated among naval and military trophies, wearing helmet and holding spear in right hand, arm resting on the Union shield. In her extended left she holds up a small figure of Victory. Legend: 'MARI VICTRIX TERRAQUE INVICTA.' (Victorious on sea, unvanquished on land.) Exergue: 'AVITUM TRANSCENDIT HONOREM MDCCXCVIII.' (He surpasses the honour of his ancestors in 1798.)
