Group portrait of Inuit girls and women
Seven Inuit girls and women in West Greenland Inuit dress of short breeches made of seal skin and decorated with 'fancy' work.
The negative has been masked by paper on emulsion side, however most of the masking paper has been removed. It is not known where this group was photographed. The Phoenix visited four settlements along the west coast of Greenland: Holsteinborg, Godhavn, Proven, and Upernarvick between 8 June and 21 July 1854.
