31ft boat
Scale 1:24. A plan showing the body with sternboard, profile and longitudinal half-breadth of a 31ft boat. There are two seperate annotations on the plan, both of which are as follows:
'This Boat would be better to be 2ins wider in midship as is dotted in - and the foremost timbers [no2uite?] so Hollow alow for timbers H should no Hollow above 1 inch'
'This Draught was proposed by ye Portsmouth Officers to Admiral Boscawen [1711-1761], and was lent to me by Mr. Weber.'
Admiral Boscawen was Commander in Chief at Portsmouth in 1757/8, and this plan may date from that period.
