Obverse: The Admiral's bust, front view, head (three-quarter right), bare-headed, natural hair, open naval uniform without epaulettes. Legend: 'ADMIRAL DUNCAN'. Reverse: Inscription (in thirteen lines), 'STRUCK IN HONOR OF ADMIRAL DUNCAN WHO DEFEATED THE DUTCH FLEET OCTOBER 11, 1797 AND IN IMMORTAL REMEMBRANCE OF THE BRAVE MEN WHO FELL IN THE ACTION.'
