John & Mary (1770)

Scale 1:48. Drawing showing the profile, plan and stern board for John & Mary (1770), a three-masted 81ft sailing merchant ship based at Whitby. This is an almost direct tracing copy of an older plan, so the clarity of text and lines is not absolutely precise.

Inscriptions:
- [top left] "Tracing of the (Smalis) (?) plan of earliest known Whitby vessel"
- [top left] "Designer W.S. Chapman"
- [label on top of plan] "To Messrs Doxford Sunderland shipbuilders / A Hull model please / 1910"
