A noble. Obverse: King Edward III crowned, standing (front) in a ship, holding sword and shield. Legend: 'EDWARD . DEI . GRA . REX . ANGL . DNS . HYB . & . AQT.' Reverse: Within a tressure of eight arches having a trefoil in each spandril, a floriated cross with lis at end of each limb, and E. (Edwardus) within an ornamented compartment in the centre; in each angle of cross, a lion passant, guardant with crown above. Legend: 'IHC . AVTEM . TRANSIENS . PER . MEDIV . ILLORVM . IBAT.'
