Reverse: View of the entrance to tunnel over the canal. Inscription on edge: 'PAYABLE AT BRIMSCOMBE PORT'. Token currency issued by the Thames and Severn Canal Co. to pay the wages of its work force. The vessel on the obverse is a Severn trow; the entrance to the Sapperton tunnel is shown on the reverse.
