Medal commemorating trade beyond the seas. Obverse: On pale blue enamel the harp of Ireland, gilt; above, one, below, two trefoils of green enamel. Legend is Gaelic. Reverse: On a black enamel shield a lion rampant, gilt, resting upon a single-masted medieval vessel, the hull gilt; mast and furled sail, surmounted by a flag of crimson enamel. Legend: 'TRADE BEYOND THE SEAS'. Below, inscription on a ribbon: 'GALWAY 1908'. Fitted with a scroll and ring.
