Medal commemorating the tercentenary of the destruction of the Spanish Armada, 1888. Obverse: Two oval medallions of busts of Queen Elizabeth (left) crowned, in a ruff (three-quarter right), and Queen Victoria (right) crowned and veiled (three-quarter left) joined by an inscribed ribbon, a crown with glory above; the two shields of England of each period below, resting on a spray of laurel. Inscription, on ribbon: '1588-1888.' Reverse: Fame winged seated, a winged lioness beside her, inscribing a wreathed column. Legend: 'DESTRUCTION OF THE SPANISH ARMADA.' Exergue: 'TERCENTENARY COMMEMORATION . A . D . 1888.' Inscription, on column: 'HOWARD, SEYMOUR, DRAKE, HAWKYNS, WYNTER, FROBIS[HER].'
