Reverse: Inscription, 'OPPER BEVELHEBBER VAN LAN-EN ZEEMACHT HIJ WAAKTE VAN AUGUSTUS 1914 TOT. NOVEMBER 1918 VOOR'S LANDS VEILIGHEID.' (As commander-in-chief of the land and sea forces, he kept watch over the nation from August 1914 to November 1918.)
