CLASSIS . PRAEFECTVS.' Reverse: Within a deep moulding a boatload of men approaching the shore (left), the discoverer standing in the bows; the 'Santa Maria' in the distance, two other boatloads leaving her side; a coat of arms in foreground. Exergue: 'MCCCCXCII. MDCCCXCII.'
