Medal commemorating the 50th anniversary, Defence of Sebastopol, 1905. Obverse: Two medallions with the heads of the Emperors Nicholas I and Alexander II, both left. Above a smaller medallion showing the monograms 'A III' and 'N II' (Alexander III and Nicholas II), surmounted by the Imperial Crown. Below, a plain St George's cross, with a round medallion in centre, showing the number 349, surrounded by oak and laurel wreath. Intertwined branches of oak and laurel in semicircle (right). Legend (left): '1854-1855', '1902-1905.' Reverse: Plan of the harbour and town of Sebastopol, showing the different redoubts and batteries and places where the ships were sunk. Over this flies the Imperial Eagle with laurel wreath in its claws, and above the Heavenly Eye sheds its rays. Inscription (right), in the field, in Cyrillic (Our fathers had faith in thee: they had faith and thou didst deliver them).
