Obverse: A sea monster with a lion's head and wearing a naval cocked hat, its tail stretching into the distance and its paw resting on a small boat flying the British ensign, having its nose flicked by the wing of a passing bird (right). Legend: 'S . M . S . MÖWE . HEIMKEHR' (The home-coming of SMS 'Möwe'). Reverse: Within a cartouche formed by two dolphins facing one another, inscription: 'DAS WELTMEERBE . HERRSCHENDE ALBION ZEICHNET IN GOLD EINE MILLION.' (Albion which controls the sea of the world contributes one million of gold.) Exergue: 'W . REICHS-KRIEGS ANLEIHE.' (Fourth Imperial War Loan.)
