Obverse: A beaver breaking through a submarine net under water, water plants growing from the bottom. Legend: 'DRÜBER WEG NICHT! - DRUNTER DURCH!' (No way that side, through down here!)

Reverse: Two men in a boat hauling up a net, another in the distance doing the same near the shore, inscription below. Legend: 'ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DIE I . FAHRTUND GLÜCKLICHE HEIMKEHR DES . H : U . BOOTES : DEUTSCHLAND 23 . 8 . 1916.' (A souvenir of the voyage and happy home-coming of the U-boat 'Deutschland'. 23.8.1916.) Inscription: 'LORD CECIL dem Grossbritannischen Blockademinister gewidmet.' (Presented to Lord Cecil, Great Britain's Minister of Blockade.)
