Medal commemorating Nikolaus Burggraf und Graf zu Dohna-Schlodien of SMS 'Möwe'. Obverse: Bust of Captain Count Dohna-Schlodien in uniform and cap (right). Legend: 'KORVETTENKAPITÄN GRAF ZU DOHNA=SCHLODIEN.' Reverse: Within a border of warships and torpedoes starboard-bow view of SS 'Appam'; inscription below and underneath, a seagull carrying a fish in its beak. Inscription: 'DIE VON DER DEUTSCHEN MÖWE ERBEUTETE ENGLISCHE APPAM, FERUAR 1916.' (The English 'Appam' captured by the German 'Möwe'. Möwe is the German for gull.)
