Obverse: Port broadside view of the US sloop 'St Louis' (left) and the Austrian brig 'Hassar' (right) at anchor, a boat plying between; distant view of the coastline, city of Smyrna and shipping. Exergue: 'SMYRNA AMERICAN SLOOP OF WAR ST LOUIS. AUSTRIAN BRIG OF WAR HUSSAR.' Reverse: Inscription within a laurel (left) and oak (right) wreath; in exergue an eagle displayed, stars and stripes radiating behind.
