Medal commemorating G. MacGregor and the expedition to Florida, 1817. Obverse: A cross fitchee surrounded by a laurel wreath. Legend: 'DUCE MAC GREGORIO - LIBERTAS FLORIDARUM.' Reverse: A laurel wreath tied with ribbon with date inside. Inscription: '29 JUNII 1817.' Legend: 'AMALIA - VENI VIDI VICI.' MacGregor, a Scottish adventurer, served in the Venezuelan army and led an unsuccessful expedition to Florida.
