Badge commemorating the action off Iquique, 1879. Obverse: A badge in the form of a gilt shield, inscribed, partly surrounded by a green enamel laurel wreath resting upon an anchor and three flags on either side, all of silver. Inscription: 'IQUIQUE 21 DE MAYO DE 1879.' Reverse: Similar to obverse, except for shield bearing a port bow view of a battleship under sail. Fitted with loop and ring and blue watered silk ribbon.
