Obverse: The American eagle with the motto 'E PLURIBUS UNUM' behind, surmounts the crossed flags of Britain and the United States, below which, on a plaque is 'GENERAL ANDREW JACKSON.' Legend: 'SESQUICENTENIAL OF THE BATTLE OF NEW ORLEANS, JANUARY 8, 1965.' Reverse: On a circular boss, within a wreath of palm and laurel, 150 years of peace 1815-1965, above, the crown and supporters of England, and on a ribbon 'FRIENDSHIP AND UNDERSTANDING' below, 'DEVOTION TO DUTY' and, on a plaque, 'SIR EDWARD PAKENHAM', and crossed oak branches.
