Legend; 'THE BATTLE OF LAKE ERIE'. Inscription: '1813-1963'. Reverse: On a six-sided rope-edged plaque, the bust of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry (1785-1819) (facing) in uniform. Below: 'PERRY'. Above: An eagle displayed (right); at left, a thirteen star US flag at right, Lawrence's flag, 'DON'T GIVE UP THE SHIP'. Inscribed on a scroll: 'WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY AND THEY ARE OURS'. Edge milled and this is No. 5022 out of 6000 struck.
