Obverse: Mercury seated (right), a caduceus in his left hand; behind him a female figure standing on the shore, a spray of laurel on her right arm, her left hand resting on the shield of Argentina; port-bow view of a passenger ship under steam (left) approaching. Reverse: A spray of laurel, enfolded by a scroll inscribed with the names of the officials concerned. Legend: 'PUERTO . DE . LA . PLATA ZONA . FRANCA COMERCIAL.'
