Medal commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). Uniface. A tomb chest with naval trophies on top and an obelisk above. The obelisk, which projects beyond the edge of the medal, bears an oval profile of Nelson with palm and olive branches below and a naval crown above. Flags are shown on either side of the monument on which leans a mourning seaman. Inscribed on tomb chest: 'GALLANT NELSON DIED . IN THE HOUR OF VICTORY 21 OCTR . AD . 1805.' Exergue: 'TRAFALGAR'.
