Ingot depicting Hatshepsut's Punt Ship circa 1500 BC
Rectangular shaped ingot. Obverse: Starboard broadside view of Hatshepsut's punt ship. Eight figures standing on deck. Sail set. Inscription: 'HATSHEPSUT'S PUNT SHIP'. Reverse: Inscription, 'HATSHEPSUT'S PUNT SHIP C. 1500 B.C. Dispatched by Egyptian Queen Hatshepsut on a historic trading expedition, several Punt Ships sailed the length of the Red Sea into the Indian Ocean. The ships were strengthened by rope supports for the bow and stern and by the innovation of beams which extended through the sides of the hull.'
