Ingot commemorating the 'Preussen'
Rectangular shaped ingot. Obverse: Starboard broadside view of the 'Preussen', sails set. Inscription: 'PRUESSEN'. Reverse: Inscription, 'PRUESSEN 1902. Known as the "Pride of Prussia" the German-built Preussen was the largest of all cargo-carriers under sail and was the only non-powered, five-masted full-rigged ship ever built. Constructed of steel, the ship was just over 407 feet in length, nearly 54 feet in beam and carried 46 sails.'
