Next of Kin Memorial Plaque. Uniface: Britannia standing (half-right) holding a trident in her right hand and a laurel wreath in her extended left; at her feet, a lion (right). In background, two dolphins and a branch of oak. At the base, a lion (left) devours an eagle. Legend: 'HE: DIED: FOR: FREEDOM: AND: HONOVR' on a rectangular plaque 'ALBERT HENRY DUKE'. These plaques were issued to the relatives of those killed in the First World War or dying as a result of the conflict within seven years of the cessation of hostilities.

Albert Henry Duke (1890-1915) was an able seaman, RNVR and died on 25 April 1915 whilst serving with the Anson Battalion, RN Division during the Gallipoli landings. He was buried at sea. Son of a coal miner of Kimberworth, Rotherham also called Albert Duke, Albert Henry was a crane driver before the war.
