Token decorated with a broad arrow and inscription: 'PO AUG 1823'
Copper uniface token decorated with a broad arrow and inscription: 'PO AUG 1823'. The token was found under a post or flagstaff on HMS 'Victory' during repairs to the ship circa 1891. On 25th June 1823 'Victory' was fitted out for duties as a Portsmouth guardship.
