Medal commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805).

Obverse: The Admiral's bust, (left), within an oval border with palm and laurel branches, surmounted by a naval crown, placed on the side of an obelisk, projecting beyond edge of medal, flags on both sides. The broad base, against which leans the figure of a weeping seaman, is piled up with trophies of war. Legend, (on the base): 'GALLANT NELSON DIED IN THE HOUR OF VICTORY 21 . OCTR . AD . 1805.' Exergue: 'TRAFALGAR.'

Reverse: Britannia, (left), with lion behind and shield beside her, sits mourning at a pedestal inscribed: 'BASTIA ABOVKIR COPENAG[EN]', on which is placed an urn, from which Neptune, (right), armed with trident, draws a veil, exposing the letters 'HN'. Ships (right). Legend: 'IN LIFE VICTORIOUS IN DEATH TRIUMPHANT'. Exergue: 'MDCCCV.'
