Medal commemorating the centenary of the Battle of Navarino, 1927. Obverse: Busts (left to right) of Admiral Sir Edward Codrington (1770-1851), Rear-Admiral Henri Gauthier de Rigny (1783-1835) and Rear-Admiral Count Heiden conjoined, facing (right). Legend in Greek. Reverse: inscription in Greek, within a laurel wreath tied with a bow, (Greece ever mindful of Navarino). Set in a glazed frame with certificate. Certificate inscribed 'NAVARINO CENTENARY The Organizing Committee have the honour to forward to Mrs Urban H. Broughton the commemorative medal issued on the occasion of the naval Victory of Navarino (1827-1927)'. Admiral de Rigny and Admiral Count Heiden commanded the French and Russian squadrons under the general command of Sir Edward Codrington.
