Military General Service Medal, 1793-1814
Obverse: Head of Queen Victoria with a diadem, hair tied in a knot (L). Legend: "VICTORIA REGINA 1848". Reverse: Her Majesty, crowned and robed (L), standing on a platform, decorated with a lion couchant, placing a wreath on the head of the Duke of Wellington (R), kneeling, robed a Field Marshal's baton in his right hand. Legend: "TO THE BRITISH ARMY". Exergue: "1793-1814". Fitted with a bar and a scarlet ribbon edged with blue. Bar: "MARTINIQUE". Inscribed on edge,"T. BURDWOOD LIEUT R.N."
