Meritorious Service Medal, 1848
Obverse: Head of Queen Victoria with a diadem, hair tied in a knot (L). Legend VICTORIA REGINA. Below: 1848. Reverse: A laurel wreath tied with a bow, the royal crown above, inscription within "FOR MERITORIOUS CONDUCT". Fitted with a cusped bar and dark blue ribbon (missing). Inscription on edge, "SERGT THOS BALDWIN R.M. 16 JANY 1849".
