Punjab Campaign Medal 1849
Obverse: Head of Queen Victoria with a diadem, hair tied in a knot (L). Legend: "VICTORIA REGINA". Reverse: a Sikh chief surrending arms to Major General Sir Walter Raleigh Gilbert (on horseback), English troops drawn up in the rear; a hill and palm trees in the distance. Legend: "TO THE ARMY OF THE PUNJAB." Suspended from a cusped bar and dark blue ribbon edged with yellow. Inscribed on edge, "1ST CLASS ENGR. W.H.J.SPEARMAN, IND.FLOT. (INDIAN FLOTILLA)."
