Boulton's Trafalgar Medal

Obverse: Bust of Vice-Admiral Viscount Nelson with pigtail, in uniform and ribbon and star of the Bath (left). Legend: 'HORATIO VISCOUNT NELSON. K.B. DUKE OF BRONTE. &.' Reverse: General view of the battle. Legend: 'ENGLAND EXPECTS THAT EVERY MAN WILL DO HIS DUTY'. Exergue: 'TRAFALGAR. OCTR. 21. 1805'. Inscription incuse: 'John Peart, Africa'. The medal is enclosed in a 'watch' glass case fitted with a loop and ring. John Peart appears on the ship's muster books of HMS 'Africa' as a pressed man aged 27 from Portsmouth in Hampshire.
