St Jean d'Acre Medal, Syrian War 1840
Obverse: The Sultan's cypher in Arabic, surrounded by a laurel wreath. Reverse: A fort flying the Turkish flag, above, six stars, inscription below in Arabic "1256 (1840) "The country of Syria and the fortress of Acre". Fitted with a silver suspension bar and crimson ribbon edged with white, with a brooch pin. Awarded by the Sultan of Turkey in gold and silver to officers and in bronze to men. Presented to Lieut. R. A. Oliver.
