Prize medal, Scottish Naval and Military Academy ca.1842

Obverse: Within a raised border on an embossed circle, a lion rampant, surrounded by a motto inscription: "NEMO ME IMPUNE L'ACESSSET" resting upon a four-pointed star, with intervening squared rays. Legend: "SCOTTISH NAVAL AND MILITARY ACADEMY". Reverse: Within a ribbon (above) and laurel border tied with a bow (below) inscription in four lines: "1st Prize, Mr. Thomas Drever. 22nd July 1842". Legend on ribbon: "Fortification". Fitted with two bars decorated with thistle foliage, inscription. (1) "Military Drawing" (2) "Senr. French" both inscribed (rev.) "Mr.Thomas Drever, 22nd July, 1842", and a blue ribbon with red borders.
