Prize medal, Metropolitan & Provincial Industrial Exhibition 1869
Obverse: Within a beaded border head of Queen Victoria, crowned. Legend: "VICTORIA REGINA". Reverse: within a beaded border four separate shields of Great Britain and Ireland set at right angles resting on an inner circle with border; a beehive in centre with bees in flight, a ribbon below "1869" above. Legend: "METROPOLITAN & PROVINCIAL INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION". "PRIZE MEDAL". Inscription on ribbon, "NOTHING WITHOUT INDUSTRY". Presented to Lieut. E.R. May for an invention for lowering ships' boats.
